Ballet Folklorico - CANCELLED
Learn the history of dance & music through this class in Mexican Folk Dancing with instructor Caroline "Caro" Acuña. Caro will hosw students everything from the footwork from Africa through the Mediterranean, Spain and Latin America. Students will learn the basics of folklóico as well as learning the rhythm, technique and team building involved in a successful folklórico troupe

Capoeira
Looking for self-defense that arms you with culture, history, and exercise? Capoeira is a Brazilian art form full of dance, martial art and music. Capoeira that was born in oppression and persevered to liberty. We will learn basic foot work, stances, kicks and acrobatics. We will learn to play traditional as well as contemporary styles of capoeira games. Come to learn something new that will empower you, space is limited.

Fashion Design (Fashion 508) -- NEW CLASS
Be part of Warehouse 508's first class of fashion designers with this class taught by Teresa Romero of the Designer's Lounge. The class is an introduction to Fashion Illustration, Concepting a Collection and Portfolio Presentation.
This covers the "9 heads" approach to fashion illustration, drawing skills,
technical drawing, modern croquis and poses, clothes on the figure, fabrics
and how to put a portfolio together.

Future Voices of New Mexico
Filmmaking Academy
Learn exactly what it takes to create a short film or video project from start to finish. Local filmmaker Christopher Michael Roybal will provide one-on-one mentoring and help you to create various projects of your choosing. Classes will meet twice weekly, in addition to occasionaly meeting outside of class to film projects. You will get as much out of this class as you put into it, so please come prepared with your ideas and know exactly what you'd like to learn and film.

Headed up by renowned aerosol artist and muralist John Lorne, the Urban Art mural program will introduce you to new styles of urban art and aerosol art.
From stencils to hand-styles, you can practice every Saturday on our mural wall and help create the next new mural at 508.

The class will be done in two sessions:
Session 1 runs every Saturday, Noon-2 pm from Sat., Jan. 14 thru Sat. Feb. 4. Session 2 runs every Saturday, Noon-2 pm from Sat., Feb. 17 thru Sat. Mar. 10.
We'll also have a 30 minute free skate following the lessons.
Participating skaters also get a 10 % discount at 4Ds Skate Shop.

What does it take to write a chapbook? How do I know I'm a "writer"? Answers to these questions and much more when 508 and nationally known poet John Survivor Blake grind the point of your pen sharper then any sword!
